Our Featured Artist - Mo Phillips

After retiring early from a career in primary school teaching, Mo decided to embrace her creative side. From a converted pigsty in southwest France, she fulfilled her dream of establishing her own ceramic workshop. Named “Expressions en Terre,” the workshop brought creative joy to countless children, adults, and to Mo herself for 20 wonderful years.

As arthritis made working with clay increasingly difficult, Mo transitioned her artistic passion into 2D media, using oil paints as her primary medium.

From France to Spain, and now residing in a small village in South Africa’s Western Cape, Mo continues to paint from a cozy cabin in her garden, exhibiting her work locally. She has no particular specialty, thriving on the challenge of capturing anything that catches her eye or sparks her interest—an enthusiasm she hopes is evident in her paintings.
